Letting everyone know on August 25th, Lynagh released a new single. Will be posting a full write-up next, but, there is something I will reference I never had an opportunity to explain. Years ago I knew a guy named Mike who was a drummer in local bands that played HEAVY Metal (Black Flag, Pantera, etc.) and when he eventually had to go out and get a real job he started working at local pizza restaurants. Since I did not know him until he was an assistant manager at one, he told me this story that had happened years before regarding a conversation he had with someone from Florida Georgia Line which went like this:
Mike: Hello
Florida Georgia Line: Hey man, this is “So and so” from Florida Georgia line. We are the number one unsigned band in Nashville. We have a big event coming up and wanted to know if you could help us out with some pizzas.
M: So let me get this straight. Some guy from some band I have never heard of calls me out of the blue and wants me to give them a bunch of free food.
FGL: Yeah man. We’ll give you a huge shout-out at our next gig.
M: Unless you play death metal or Swedish death metal, I don’t give a fu*k who you are “Click”.
Bring this up because a while back I joked with her about playing some Swedish death metal. For a while it was a running joke because at every set I went to when she started trying to get requests from the crowd she would go through different genres she would play she included “except Swedish death metal”. It also has become something of a tag line I started using so when you see it pop up hopefully with this explanation it will make more sense.
