Took me a while to decide whether or not to post this one because it has some good, some not so good and an “F-Bomb” (but not by me) but decided you might like it overall. Due to Leah’s shift on Sunday switching from 2:00-6:00 to 4:00-8:00 only caught the last half of Lynagh’s set. The group of people seated at my “usual table” (hence the change in position) kept throwing requests out during the set, but, they would usually start with four songs and then have to whittle it down. They had thrown out three other songs, then, mentioned this one. I can tell when she has one she really likes to perform because she will go into the backstory. She started talking about the events you all know about at The 12/30 club and talked for probably two minutes before I started filming. Caught her just as she made the official decision prior to the first performance to “go for it” (hence the F-Bomb) but decided to keep it in because she hadn’t played it since. You will notice Gary trying to do his best impersonation of an upright bass to tie back into the original performance, and since she didn’t have one to work off of regarding the rhythm she decided to channel her inner Louis Armstrong. She also added some additional embellishments as she is getting more comfortable with the material. To me the not so good (and this always seems to happen when I am trying to make the “perfect clip”) is someone gets between me and the stage. The last thing I expected was the people who requested the song do it not once but twice, and, wouldn’t shut up during the entire performance. Hopefully will have better luck next go around but in the meantime I hope you enjoy Lynagh performing from Loser’s Van Morrison’s “Moondance”.
