Once again it is time for another “Completely Unbiased 😁” music review but this time it is an EP edition. Have not reviewed an EP before but as I have heard numerous times by numerous artists from numerous stages “There’s a first time for everything” so I am comfortable writing it here without any copyright issues. Don’t worry will get to everyone’s favorite musical genre reference but let’s get into the review. Donny Van Slee released his EP “Sip On Me” today. Since this is uncharted territory for me, figured I would just list each song and give my opinion:
1. Sip On Me - Written as a dedication to that special someone in his life as a way to note his appreciation of what she does for him, and, that he does what he has to do to keep the relationship going.
2. I Got A Friend - With the harmonica and overall rhythm he brings a little bit of a blues vibe. Discusses the importance of having people in your life who accept you for who you are, and, encourage you to keep moving forward.
3. Wonderful World - A reminder that while this planet has issues it is still a great place.
4. Baby Boo - Another love song, but this time since I know he is a fan, musically I pick up a Jack Johnson vibe and since he includes the word beach I have to add the obligatory Jimmy Buffett reference.
5. Detective Pain - He has a line in his last release Spencer’s Song “Spencer’s got a day job” and while I don’t think it is directly applicable in this case, he does refer to the fact he is a chiropractor. If you are into that, better reach out to him now because once he hits it big I don’t think you will have a situation of, “Let me stop my world tour so I can show up and give you a spinal alignment”.
In closing while he doesn’t venture musically outside of where his previous releases have gone so there is nothing that falls into the category of Swedish Death Metal (There you go 😁) or anything “edgy” even the staunchest metal head can use a musical “palate cleanser” and this EP fits the bill. Purchased my copy from the iTunes Store to keep the people at Apple gainfully employed, this is the link on Spotify:

and I hope you like it just as much as I do.

“Animals” Behind the scenes video

Sunshine posted a “Behind the scenes” video of Lyssa Coulter and him recording “Animals”. Figured I would go ahead and share it because you couldn’t hear any of his vocals with the footage Lyssa posted previously.

Point/Counterpoint “Animals” Pre-Save Video

Since he is involved with two songs coming out the 29th, Sunshine created a hilarious “counterpoint” to Lyssa’s IG story trying to get people to pre-save their cover of Nickelback’s “Animals”.
