Between the introduction and the song itself the clip was over 7 minutes so I had to break it apart. When I first heard the song and the way he delivered it, I knew this was more than just a “I wanted to write about something” situation and there was a personal story that drove the idea and the lyrics. Over time have seen him make the occasional comment regarding his sobriety but did not know the full story of his journey until I saw him tell this. Did a deeper zoom since it is not going anywhere else but here because I wanted it to have a more personal experience. This is Josh Hughett telling the story behind his song “Still A Man”.
