I don’t remember exactly where during the set it occurred so I will mention it now. At one point they were trying to figure out what to play. Lucas mentioned “How about some Christmas music?”. Remember I spent the week before Christmas doing promo clips for Jillian and his sets in Arizona and after I received an Instagram message from her asking I included the link to a particular song of his. At that point Sunshine replied, “I don’t know any”. After that I threw my hands up and said, “Have you forgotten you released a Christmas record?”. His response was, “That was like three years ago, so I don’t remember it”. Since they have so few opportunities to perform their own material it does happen. Josh Hughett mentioned to me after his set at The Listening Room that he had to relearn his songs before that performance. Lucas replied back, “You mean you don’t remember your own song?”. At this point there were some people who were starting to wander in so I can just imagine what they were thinking as this conversation was going on. Have to admit it is not the most interesting one I have witnessed based on one Leah and Lynagh had back in the day where Lynagh mentioned she learned Italian and with her history of studying operas based on her then being able to learn how to sing about doing certain oral acts in that language I am not going to mention here. With that it seems like the perfect segway into Lucas Alexander performing The Faces’ “Ooh La La”.
As is his fashion, Sunshine announced somewhat last minute the official music video of Alyssa Coulter and his cover of Nickelback’s “Animals” is today at 12:00PM Central time in the U.S. adjust accordingly for your area.
