We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming for this special announcement. A while back I filmed Lynagh performing a song by the artist ZZ Ward. She shared that and then ZZ Ward then shared it. Asked Lynagh next time I saw her about it. She said ZZ had shared a previous clip so it was a situation of I just happened to be the person filming it.
Bring all of that up because I recently posted a new version of Sunshine performing the Waylon Jennings song “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way”. For anyone who doesn’t know Lynagh’s first name is Samantha. Bring it up because when in the original song Waylon says “When I got to Nashville” Sunshine changed it to “When Sam got to Nashville”. Out of professional courtesy I didn’t make a big deal about it. This time since he referenced Jillian, so it was fair game.
When the opportunity has presented itself and I have been able to include something humorous as part of the commentary it has helped the view count. You see the comment I made on the Instagram story. Apparently the Waylon Jennings Instagram page didn’t have an issue with it because they liked the reel, liked the post, and, shared the story on their page. That is the first time I have gotten a direct share. What you see is a screenshot of my thank you to them for sharing it.
Saw the notification while I was at work this past Tuesday before I left for the writers round. Since I purposely tagged Sunshine in the reply I knew he would see it. Kept waiting for some kind of reply but didn’t see anything. Since he showed up for his set at the round right before he was set to go on stage at 8:00, walked over and asked him if he had looked on Instagram lately. Replied he hadn’t because he had just left another gig. Told him to check it.
He got out his phone and since this would be the first time I would get a face-to-face reaction, got my phone out to get a “That moment when you see the social media page of an artist you’re a fan of shares your performance” picture but he didn’t look up from his phone for about two minutes. He said that was awesome and gave me a fist bump. He got paged by Leah so I didn’t get that moment, but, still think it is really cool.
As is his fashion, Sunshine announced somewhat last minute the official music video of Alyssa Coulter and his cover of Nickelback’s “Animals” is today at 12:00PM Central time in the U.S. adjust accordingly for your area.
