As I mentioned in my last post, taking this opportunity to catch everyone up. As another gesture as to these artists trusting me, prior to Bella’s round Wednesday night, she asked me to watch her purse and her dog Meeshe Moo, who has popped up in her videos before, during her set. The dog stayed in her carrier on the floor during it, but since I didn’t have any content I could share outside of here, decided to set her on the sofa and grab a picture to use that as a tie-in.
Thursday night Lyssa Coulter and a friend of hers by the name of Chelsea Sulkey, who started following me on Instagram after Lyssa shared her first video, were performing as part of a writers round at The Hard Rock Cafe from 8:00-9:00. Figured it gave me the perfect opportunity to finally film something at that venue. Had a good line to the stage, but because of the lighting you see how it turned out, so that was a bust.
Was going to catch Bella who made a last minute post she was sitting in with a band by the name of “We Are After Dark”, who has been following me for months, at Tootsie’s from 9:00-10:00. Since it is always packed I knew trying to get a video would be out of the question. Didn’t happen since security wouldn’t let me in with my backpack.
Gave me the opportunity to roll into Losers early to try and get a good spot to catch Lynagh and her band’s set. Had to end up compromising and got what I think will be some good footage. Plan was to stay about an hour, get about four clips and leave around 11:00. What happened? Stayed until after they closed at 2:00AM which put me back at the apartment around 3:00.
Slept through my alarm and didn’t wake up until 9:10. That is a problem since I am supposed to be at work at 8:30. Meant I worked remotely for the day and spent all of it trying to play catch up after leaving early (for me) the previous three days.
Since Jillian asked after her round Tuesday night I stop by again for her Friday night set at Dawghouse since she is heading back to the Buffalo area for the next three weeks. Again no footage because the layout isn’t quite right and was too tired to work on the “creative filming” I have been wanting to try.
Speaking of Lyssa, saw a post that her and her band are performing at The Midwestern in St. Louis, MO tonight starting at 9:30.
Finally as a “Wasn’t expecting this” moment if you go back to the last writers round, I posted a video of Karissa Ella performing a song titled “Dirty Shirley”. I didn’t even know it existed but apparently you can purchase the drink in cans because they made a comment on the post. Included it and her reply so that is my first “Catching the direct attention of a retail product” moment. Already sent the screenshot to Lynagh asking if she wants to write a song about Jameson to see if I can get lightning to strike twice.
