To connect to my previous post, have been in Nudie’s a couple of times before to see Leah Crose’s bass player Trent Hollingsworth perform in another band he is in. They had a big crowd both times so it wasn’t conducive to filming. They also were set up so they were performing towards the wall I was sitting against.
Bring that up since these buildings were not originally designed to be entertainment venues, they have to work with what they have. That means a lot of places (Mellow Mushroom, Scond Fiddle and Tootsie’s immediately come to mind) the stage is long but very narrow. What you end up with is what I call the “Millenium Falcon” or “Minivan with captains chairs” band layout. Since I like to try and film facing the band, and at Nudie’s the stage goes right into as they bill it “The longest bar in Nashville” is why I picked my spot and it looks different.
