Mentioned in my last post yesterday that I was planning to go see Drew and his band at The Bowery Vault. Didn’t get in the building until about 8:45 for his 9:00 set, and the place was pretty full from the group that was there to see the act that was on stage at the time, so again no venue pictures.
Most of these songs you have heard before, but, they do sound different with a full band since everyone with strings channeled their inner Dylan and “went electric”. Austin Allen on the 2nd guitar and Kenny Bryan on bass are back, and now Jamie Glasgow is in on drums.
Like Social Strays and The Handsome Hangovers when they are performing covers around town they go by Birdbath (yes as one word) Band, but since this was a showcase of Drew’s original material, it was just his name on the playbill and the set opened with “Blood Sugar Blues”.
As is his fashion, Sunshine announced somewhat last minute the official music video of Alyssa Coulter and his cover of Nickelback’s “Animals” is today at 12:00PM Central time in the U.S. adjust accordingly for your area.
Sunshine posted a “Behind the scenes” video of Lyssa Coulter and him recording “Animals”. Figured I would go ahead and share it because you couldn’t hear any of his vocals with the footage Lyssa posted previously.
